Mixed Taste: Clara Brown & Hide Tanning

In this lecture series, two speakers take the stage with back-to-back talks on completely unrelated topics. Then the audience steps in for the Q&A and takes questions on both topics at the same time. During the first part of the program, no connections are allowed between the topics. During the Q&A, anything can happen. This lecture brings together Jeff Campbell, the founder and artistic director of Emancipation Theater, a Denver company dedicated to elevating Black stories, artists, and cultural experiences with Chelsea Kaiah, a Ute and Apache artist whose practice draws from traditional materials and techniques, including beadwork, quillwork, and hide work, to explore healing, resilience, and Indigenous identity.
