Jean-Yves Thibaudet Piano Recital
Jean-Yves Thibaudet is one of the most celebrated pianists alive — a French virtuoso who has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, recorded more than 50 albums, and been inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame.
On the evening of May 7th, he brings his much-anticipated all-Debussy program to Denver's intimate Gates Hall at the Newman Center, performing the complete Préludes Books I and II — 24 pieces widely regarded as the pinnacle of French piano literature, and a program that has already earned rave reviews on this international tour. Gates Hall is an exceptional venue: a warm, acoustically superb concert hall on the University of Denver campus that seats just a few hundred people, putting your group closer to a world-class performance than most concert halls in the world would allow. This is the season finale for Denver's Friends of Chamber Music series — a fitting close to a remarkable year.
