Historic Elitch Theater - Behind the Scenes!

If you grew up in Denver, chances are you stepped inside this iconic theater! This landmark was once the centerpiece of Elitch’s Zoological Gardens. The theatre's charm lay in its history (built in 1891), its wooden interior, and its reputation as a launching pad for actors who would go on to major film and stage careers! The theatre operated as a seasonal venue, typically running shows through the summer months as part of Elitch Gardens Amusement Park. Performers included Patty Duke and John Astin (A Shot in the Dark), Debbie Reynolds (performing songs from The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Harve Presnell), William Shatner (Deathtrap), Cloris Leachman, and many others.

The tour covers the theatre's rich history, architectural significance, ongoing restoration efforts, and the secrets behind the stars who "graced" the stage, including the Princess of Monaco!
