lil piñon’s sound grew from a garden bed of poetry and conscious hip-hop, sown with the seeds of 90’s alternative, punk and ska, watered with hyperempathy for the human experience, and harvested with one closed fist and one open hand. Just like life is a spectrum from the mundane to the magnanimous, lil piñon’s songs touch on subjects from mental health to political unrest to cats to hanging out in the shed with your friends watching sports. His performances are filled with humor, whimsy, frustration, anger, and the dirtiest of words… hope. lil piñon performs both solo and with his band, the bosque.
